WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will report to the Director, Finance and Operations and will build and maintain relationships with teams across MFAM, the Mastercard Foundation, external consultants and vendors. As a member of the team, you will have opportunities to grow and develop and create meaningful value and lasting impact through the Mastercard Foundation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
This is a unique opportunity to help build and shape a world-class finance function within a growing asset management company that directly supports one of the largest private foundations in the world. In this role, you will have breadth, combining accounting and operational experience and be responsible for monthly accounting, payroll, payments and financial planning.
Accountabilities include and may not be limited to:
- Support monthly accounting, month end close, and reporting
- Prepare, and support the assessment and evaluation of budget and forecasts helping to drive cost analytics and variance analyses
- Become a business advisor and expert on people operations including payroll, incentive calculations and incentive management, and benefits helping to drive insights and analytics for forecasting and budgeting
- Support the monthly payments process, becoming a subject matter expert for all costs of MFAM
- Advise functional teams on management of costs and payments instilling a culture of cost consciousness in the organization and a system of internal controls
- Collaborate with various functional teams across MFAM to prepare and manage budgets and forecasts
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 4 – 6 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, or finance operations
- CPA designation or working towards is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of payroll and benefits processes is preferred
- Experience in asset or investment management is an asset
- Expertise in servicing, collaborating and managing the expectations of front office investment team members as well as managing cross-functional teams is an asset
- Experience driving process improvements and applying frameworks such as Lean or similar
- A collaborative and adaptable mindset
- Enthusiasm for being a key player in a start-up environment, embracing hands-on execution, contributing beyond assigned responsibilities, and adapting to evolving roles and expectations.
