WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will report to the Director, Investments and will also build and maintain relationships with teams across MFAM, the Mastercard Foundation and external asset managers. As a member of the team, you will have opportunities to grow and develop, and create meaningful value and lasting impact through the Mastercard Foundation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
This is a unique opportunity to work in a lean and collaborative team that is building a world-class investment organization with global impact. You will gain exposure to investment strategies across asset classes and geographies within a mission-driven institutional platform, and play an active role across the full investment lifecycle.
Accountabilities include:
- Contribute across the full investment lifecycle by supporting due diligence, underwriting, and ongoing portfolio monitoring
- Evaluate prospective investments, identify key risks and perform financial analysis at both the fund and portfolio level
- Synthesize complex data, patterns and findings into clear, actionable insights to direct due diligence work streams and support Investment Committee and Board recommendations
- Prepare for and participate in manager meetings, including developing diligence questions, assessing investment strategies and team dynamics, and synthesizing takeaways to inform underwriting
- Take ownership of core components of the investment process, including leading select due diligence workstreams, monitoring existing investments and collaborating with the investment team to assess opportunities across asset classes
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and contribute to a collaborative team environment
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 3–5 years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in fund investment, investment banking, direct investing or similar
- Undergraduate degree required; progress towards CFA designation or advanced degree is a plus
- Exposure to private equity, venture, and/or private credit is a plus
- Familiarity with programming or data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R) is a plus
- Strong analytical and financial analysis and modeling skills; adept at Excel
- Ability to synthesize information quickly and demonstrate strong clarity of thought
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to deliver against tight timelines, while managing competing priorities
- Enthusiasm for being a key player in a start-up environment, embracing hands-on execution, contributing beyond assigned responsibilities, and adapting to evolving roles and expectations.
